Elevating Dental Practice in the Maldives: Training with Prof. Gambarini Concludes

The Advances in Clinical Techniques for Enhanced Root Canal Treatment program, led by internationally respected endodontist Prof. Gianluca Gambarini of the University of Rome, La Sapienza, has successfully concluded in the Maldives. The program brought together dental professionals from across the country to enhance their knowledge, refine clinical skills, and gain practical insights into modern endodontic practice.

The training began with a strong focus on endodontic theory, revisiting the fundamental principles behind root canal treatment and exploring how contemporary approaches have evolved to improve patient outcomes. This foundation helped participants understand the reasoning behind clinical decisions, setting the stage for the practical elements of the program.

Following the theory sessions, participants moved on to clinical approaches and treatment planning. Prof. Gambarini demonstrated advanced techniques in shaping, irrigation, and case management, emphasizing how to tailor treatment strategies to each patient. Clinicians were encouraged to discuss real-life challenges from their own practices, allowing them to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application.

The program fostered a supportive learning environment where participants could freely ask questions, exchange experiences, and build confidence in applying advanced endodontic methods. Many shared how valuable it was to have this level of training available locally, making it easier to enhance their skills without the need to travel abroad.

Hands-on practice was a key highlight, giving participants the opportunity to apply the techniques under Prof. Gambarini’s guidance. Clinicians appreciated the practical demonstrations, which bridged the gap between knowledge and real-world application, allowing them to return to their clinics with actionable skills and improved clinical confidence.

Biomax is proud to have supported this initiative, quietly working with partners Henry Schein and EdgeEndo to ensure the program ran smoothly and meaningfully. The focus remained on the participants’ learning experience, ensuring they had access to high-quality training and the right tools to practice effectively.

At the conclusion of the program, participants expressed how the training had increased their confidence, enriched their approach to patient care, and inspired them to apply updated techniques in their daily practice. Though the sessions have ended, the knowledge gained is expected to continue benefiting patients and strengthening dental care across the Maldives.
