As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen comprehensive healthcare services in island communities, Maafushi Hospital has successfully installed a new advanced dental chair system to improve oral healthcare services for residents and visitors in Maafushi.
The upgraded equipment will support more efficient and comfortable dental treatments while improving access to quality dental care within the island community, reducing the need for patients to travel for certain procedures.
The initiative was further strengthened through technical training and support provided by Nanjing FoiNoe Co. Ltd in collaboration with the hospital’s resident dentist, the Ministry of Health biomedical team, and the Biomedical Engineering Department of Naadu. The hands-on training focused on the proper operation, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of the equipment.
This collaboration highlights the importance of investing not only in modern healthcare technology, but also in strengthening local technical expertise to support a more sustainable and resilient healthcare system in the Maldives.
